Action und Spannung pur beim 2. Lauf zur Österr. Rallycross Meisterschaft in Greinbach
Bei frühlingshaften Temperaturen wurde am vergangenen Wochenende ein RX-ÖM Lauf im PS RACING CENTER Greinbach ausgetragen. Das ein Tages Format ist bei den Zuschauern und Fahrer-und innen sehr gut angekommen, kurz, knackig, spektakulär, für uns als RX-Veranstalter ist das eine Option für die Zukunft.
Ein PS-Gewitter brannten die 600 PS starken Supercars in der Königsklasse ab. Der regierende Staatsmeister, der Südtiroler Werner GURSCHLER (Ford Fiesta) beherrschte die Vorläufe und gewann das Finale mit einem fulminanten Start-Ziel-Sieg. Rekordstaatsmeister Alois HÖLLER (Ford Fiesta) kommt mit rießen Schritten der Spitze immer näher und belegt den ausgezeichneten 2. Platz. Bestens aufgelegt war Gerad EDER (Skoda Fabia) und erreichte mit einer beherzten Fahrweise einen Podestplatz. Der Neueinsteiger Norman GANSER (Ford Fiesta) hatte Probleme mit der Startautomatik und kam über einen 4. Platz nicht hinaus.
In der Klasse STC über 2000 ccm gab es ein enges Duell zwischen Karl SCHADENHOFER und Parick EIGENBAUER (beide VW Polo) das letztlich Patrick für sich entscheiden konnte. Die Freude von Patrick EIGENBAUER über seinen ersten Greinbach-Sieg war grenzenlos und sehr emotional. Daniel PFEIFFER (Skoda Fabia) belegt den 3. Platz.
Das Finale in der Klasse STC bis 2000 ccm verlief äußerst spannend durch einige Zweikämpfe. Schlussendlich konnte sich Melvin ALIC (Honda Civic) vor Josef STREBINGER (VW Polo) und dem Neueinsteiger Oliver FENZ (Fiat Punto) durchsetzen.
Die Klasse STC bis 1600 ccm wurde vom Comebacker Daniel KARLOVITS (Honda Civic) dominiert, er siegte überlegen. Platz 2 ging an Tobias KERSCHBAUMMAYR (VW Polo) vor Partick KRETSCHMER (Peugeot 206).
Die Klasse National 1600 konnte mit 15 Teilnehmern das stärkste Starterfeld vorweisen. Marcel STROBL (Citroen Saxo) gewinnt vor Raphael DIRNBERGER (Opel Corsa) und Michael KITTEL (Suzuki Swift).
Der Peugeot-Cup hat sich prächtig entwickelt und bringt immer wieder neue RX-Talente hervor. So auch dieses mal, Neueinsteiger Samu HULAK fährt bei seinem aller ersten RX-Rennen mit einer beherzten Fahrweise direkt auf das Podest und belegt Platz 3. Der Sieg geht an Oliver DARIC vor Marcal AIGELSREITER.
In der neue geschaffenen Klassen RX Historic gewinnt Brigitte SCHMALZL (Mercedes 190) vor Bernd WERFRING (Opel Kadett) und Erich HÖSEL (VW GOLF1).
Den RWD Cup gewinnt Georg Bruckmüller (BMW 330i) vor Michael STOKLASSA (BMW 328) und Lukas WOLDRICH (BMW 318is).
Ein spektakuläres RX-Wochenende ging im PS RACING CENTER über die Bühne mit begeisterten Zuschauern und RX-Fans. Das große ARBÖ Rallycross Festival findet am 22./23. Aug. 2026 in Greinbach statt.

Austrian round for the all new 2013 FIA European Rallycross Championship will get place on 14th/15th of September 2013 PS RACING CENTER Greinbach.
In its first agreement with the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile), IMG has been appointed promoter of the FIA European Rallycross Championship for a period of at least 10 years commencing in 2013. The long-term ambition is for the series to develop into a World Championship in the coming years. IMG has responsibility for all commercial areas connected to the Championship with its first development being the introduction of Monster Energy as presenting sponsor.

All three current classes (Supercar, Super1600 and TouringCar) will continue in the new structure and each will retain its FIA Championship title. Supercar will become the featured class, with 25 cars taking part in each event and racing in a 'round robin' series of heats that lead to semi-finals and the final. The 25 starters in each event will consist of 20 permanent drivers who will drive in every round of the Championship, the remaining five places taken by a mix of superstar wildcard entries and national hero qualifiers. The Super1600 and TouringCar categories will continue in their current form during 2013, but will move to a 'round robin' format of races in 2014. All three classes will race over both days of Championship events, the Super1600 and TouringCar finals being run between the Supercar finals and included in television coverage. The FIA European Rallycross Championship run by IMG will be the only rallycross championship or series officially sanctioned and endorsed by the FIA at the top level and has already secured support from the best drivers, teams and venues in the world of rallycross. The inaugural event of the new Championship will take place at Lydden Hill Race Circuit (Kent), the 'Home of Rallycross', on Easter Sunday and Monday (March 31-April 1) 2013.
